We would like to introduce you to those that have been an influence to us:

Richard Avendon

Richard Avedon said of his photography: “A photographic portrait is a picture of someone who knows he’s being photographed and what he does with his knowledge is as much a part of the photograph as what he’s wearing or how he looks.” From the start of his career, Richard Avendon’s name became well known in the fashion industry. He photographed everyone from Charlie Chaplin to Marilyn Monroe as well as a lot of “unknown” people. Throughout his career Avendon has maintained a unique style all his own. Famous or their minimalism, Avendon portraits are often well lit and in front of white backdrop. Often containing only a portion of the person being photographed, the images seem intimate in their perfection. While many photographers are interested in either catching a moment in time or preparing a formal image, Avendon has found a way to do both.

Arthur Leipzig

Arthur Leipzig’s career as a photographer fulfills the ideals of the great era of American photo-journalism. His start with Photo League of the 1940’s, his freelance work in the 1950’s and 60’s, and his years of full – time teaching with more freedom to choose his assignments in the 1970’s and 80’s, illustrate the opportunities and hardships of a life in photography. The photograph’s in his catalogue of photography are a means for expressing fundamental human experience.

Peter Hurley

Peter Hurley began his career in front of the camera – training for the Olympics in sailing, he was spotted and modeled in campaigns for A&F and Polo. Peter later moved behind the camera, and quickly built up a powerful client list. Thanks to his eye, his technique, and an engaging personality that makes people instantly comfortable, he is able to bring the best out of everyone he photographs. Since opening his studio in New York and Los Angeles, he has focused on and specializes in portraiture. Peter Hurley has worked with many companies including Levi’s, Reebok, DKNY, Jonnie Walker and has shot a lot of talented actors, models and authors. Peter is most proud of the work he did for the NY exhibition of “The Vilcek Foundation Celebrates LOST.” He travelled to Hawaii to shoot the cast and crew as they wrapped up their final season.
